Petra Klinger
Petra Klingler, born on February 14, 1992, is a Swiss professional rock and ice climber renowned for her versatility in competition climbing, and she has achieved all this despite being born with club feet. She's a third-generation climber who began her journey with multipitch climbing at the age of six and later transitioned from lead climbing to bouldering. Described as a "late bloomer," she won her first gold medal in bouldering at age 23 during the Haiyang leg of the 2015 IFSC Climbing World Cup. In addition to her studies in Sports Science and Psychology at the University of Bern, Klingler won multiple championships, including the IFSC Climbing World Championships for bouldering in 2016 and the Swiss championships in all three climbing disciplines—lead, speed, and bouldering—in 2019. As of 2022, she has set her sights on qualifying for the 2024 Olympics, making the upcoming 2023 World Championships her last competitive event.
